The University of Ibadan has initiated a new 10-hour daily electricity supply schedule, authorized by the Vice-Chancellor. This measure is designed to meet the university community’s power requirements and enhance the overall experience for students and staff.
The Director of Works, Engr. O.A. Adetolu, detailed the new schedule in an internal memo (REF: DMW/002/092) dated July 16, 2024. The new electricity supply times are:
Daytime: 08:00 AM to 02:00 PM (6 hours)
Nighttime: 10:00 PM to 02:00 AM (4 hours)


This structured power schedule aims to support essential academic and residential activities efficiently during both day and night. The daytime hours will accommodate academic activities, administrative tasks, and general campus operations, while the nighttime hours will support students’ study needs and residential comfort.
Engr. Adetolu stressed the need for strict adherence to the approved schedule for its successful implementation. This initiative underscores the university administration’s dedication to improving the campus living and learning environment.
