“They asked me to study Biology which I had no interest in. I have a passion for technology and that started at a tender age. I originally wanted to study Computer Science at the university but the case was different. After three years of studying Biology, I realized I was in the wrong field so I decided to drop out to enable me to chase my dream,” he narrated.
Philip, after the dropout, decided to learn IT himself through tutorials on the internet. After years of learning, he is now a Master in Software Development.
“I have designed a software known as ‘Batr pos’ which many supermarkets use in calculating and issuing out receipts for customers. I’m also a consultant for the birth and death registry and many other organizations,” he disclosed.
He recently received an award as the Overall Best Software Developer at the Ghana Youth Awards.
According to him, he is still in the learning stages and wishes to explore more.
“I’m still learning and I hope to explore more. I have the passion but I know there are many gurus in the industry and I wish to learn from them. I believe that with determination and hardwork, I will get there,” he indicated.
