A teacher named David Blackie was unable to buy new sneakers after the old sneakers he bought a few years ago broke down.

Since getting the first pair of Jordan sneakers in 1997, David Blakey has been wearing a particular pair of shoes.
Global Positive News reported that every time a student asked to wear it on the basketball court, its sole would fall off.
The report reads:
At the start of his teaching career in 1997, David Blakey bought his first pair of Jordan sneakers. According to Blakey, younger students used to ask to wear his Jordans during basketball games, and he would let them. Until eventually, the soles fell off.
Blakey says that he can’t afford to buy such shoes anymore, as he buys them for his two children now. That is what inspired Blakey’s class of 25 Grade 10 students to do something nice for him. The classmates from Etobicoke School of the Arts, Canada, all donated money and bought online the same sneakers their favorite teacher once had.
“He’s like a best friend to all of us. He plays basketball with us at lunchtime, helps us with our essays and other schoolwork, he even gives us space to work in the gym and honestly, he’s just a really nice guy,” Aidan Thomson, one of the students, commented.
