WAEC Bars 13 Kogi Schools Over Examination Malpractice

WAEC has banned 13 schools and 14 supervisors in Kogi State for examination malpractice during the 2023/2024 WASSCE, prompting government measures to prosecute offenders and safeguard educational progress.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has barred 13 schools in Kogi State for engaging in various levels of examination malpractice during the 2023/2024 examinations.

The Commissioner for Education in Kogi State, Wemi Jones, revealed this during a meeting with school principals and supervisors who had been implicated by WAEC in the malpractice cases. “Kogi State has made significant investments in education and will no longer tolerate individuals undermining the progress achieved in the sector,” Jones stated.
