A woman who left her 5-month-old baby with her husband to attend NYSC has been missing for two years, with no contact, while her family urges the husband to move on despite reports she’s been seen living well in Abuja.

A Nigerian man has shared a troubling story on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), revealing that his wife vanished two years ago after leaving for her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) assignment.
The story was posted by user @sledge_baba, who said the woman left their 5-month-old baby in the care of her husband to complete the one-year mandatory NYSC program. However, she never returned — and has not contacted her husband since.
According to him, when the man reached out to her family, they simply told him to “move on” and not worry about her.
The tweet read:
“Saw this weird story where a woman left her 5-month-old baby with her husband and went for NYSC. It’s been 2 years now and she hasn’t returned or even reached out to the husband. He contacted her family and they told him to move on and not worry about her. Inside life.”
In a follow-up reply, @sledge_baba added:
“Several witnesses said they’ve seen her in Abuja and she’s doing well.”

- @Ets_Ore: “It must be jazz. I don’t think a human being can be this heartless to her child.”
- @nyong_collins: “They triggered her release clause and she joined the new rich club. Let Oga just move on, everything will be fine.”
- @Rabikeyetunde: “She definitely found someone who deceived her with money — that’s the only reason she wouldn’t return.”
