Young cocoa farmer Joseph Amoah Twum earned 8 As in the WASSCE, securing a full scholarship to the University of Cape Coast and an offer to study Economics abroad, despite financial challenges.


Joseph Amoah Twum, a young cocoa farmer from Bepong Senior High School, scored 8 As in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), making history as the school’s first student to achieve straight As in science subjects.
Despite his family’s financial struggles, his exceptional performance earned him a full scholarship from the Kwahu Ambassador to study at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), alongside an additional offer from a university abroad for a degree in Economics.
Joseph expressed gratitude, reflecting on his journey from the village to university, attributing his success to hard work and grace.
