18-Year-Old UNILORIN Student Becomes Chartered Accountant


Faith Aduragbemi Olabisi, an 18-year-old Accounting student at the University of Ilorin, has become a chartered accountant after passing the November 2024 ICAN exams, earning praise for her exceptional achievement and inspiring others to pursue academic and professional excellence.

Faith Aduragbemi Olabisi, an 18-year-old Accounting student at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), has achieved the remarkable feat of qualifying as a chartered accountant.

According to a university bulletin, Faith successfully passed the November 2024 professional examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), a testament to the exceptional academic standards at UNILORIN.

Faith expressed her gratitude to her lecturers and her mother for their unwavering support, stating that becoming a chartered accountant at a young age had always been her dream.

Dr. Segun Abogun, Acting Head of the Department of Accounting, commended Faith’s outstanding achievement, noting that she is one of several students in the department who have passed the ICAN exams even before graduation. He encouraged her and her peers to inspire others to achieve similar success.

The Vice-Chancellor of UNILORIN, Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, also praised Faith’s accomplishment, emphasizing the institution’s tradition of producing exceptional professionals. He attributed this success to the university’s conducive environment and commitment to academic excellence.
