Not less than 26 beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme secured a First Class degree across various disciplined at Igbinedion University in Benin City, Edo State.


Chief Dennis Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), proudly announced that 26 scholars under its auspices have achieved first-class degrees across various disciplines at Igbinedion University in Benin City, Edo State.
During his visit to Igbinedion, Okada, and Benson Idahosa Universities to engage with management and students regarding the PAP scholarship scheme, Chief Otuaro, PhD, reiterated his commitment to fostering peace, security, and development in the Niger Delta region through the PAP, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s vision.
Chief Otuaro emphasized the importance of effectively implementing the amnesty programme to bolster confidence in the region and garner support for the Federal Government’s initiatives.
He acknowledged President Tinubu’s belief in sustaining peace in the Niger Delta and stressed the need for concerted efforts to uphold that vision.
He praised Igbinedion University for being the pioneer tertiary institution to accept PAP scholarship students, acknowledging their graduates as integral to the programme’s success.
Under Chief Otuaro’s leadership, the PAP office aims to enhance collaboration with partners to broaden its impact.
He lauded Chief Gabriel Igbinedion and the university’s management for their 25th-anniversary celebrations.
Interacting with PAP scholarship students, Chief Otuaro assured them of addressing their challenges and urged them to prioritize their studies while steering clear of social vices.
Dr. Ezemoye, the Vice Chancellor of Igbinedion University, highlighted the academic achievements of PAP scholars, including distinctions in professional courses like medicine and nursing, underscoring the programme’s positive influence on character development.
He commended the PAP for fulfilling its obligations to scholarship students and pledged to strengthen collaboration to offer opportunities in competitive fields such as medicine, nursing, law, and others.
Similarly, Prof. Johnson Oyedeji, Acting VC of Bishop Idahosa University, praised Chief Otuaro for instilling hope and encouragement among scholarship students, emphasizing the role of education in national security and oil production.
Wilcox Peremini Zaccheaus, President of the Amnesty Students Association, expressed gratitude to Chief Otuaro for his visit and appealed for increased financial support, textbook allowances, and provision of laptops for students.
