Mumuni Napari Hanifa, a 28-year-old Ghanaian, earned a PhD in Applied Statistics, becoming the youngest woman from Tamale to do so, and expressed gratitude for the support of her mentors, family, and GETFund throughout her academic journey.


Mumuni Napari Hanifa, a 28-year-old from Ghana, has earned a PhD in Applied Statistics from the University for Development Studies, becoming the youngest woman from Tamale to achieve this milestone.
Sharing her journey on LinkedIn, Hanifa expressed gratitude for overcoming her childhood fear of mathematics to achieve this success. She credited her academic mentors, family, and the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) for their support throughout her academic career.
Hanifa, who also holds a bachelor’s in Statistics and a master’s in Mathematics, is currently a lecturer at Tamale Technical University and is open to postdoctoral opportunities.
