A 47-year-old Ghanaian man by the name Obed Akusiake has just finished his Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The father of 10 said that he decided to go to school after realizing how important formal education is in the modern world.
In his words, he said:
“Education is very important. I’ve realized that if you don’t go to school you are the last in the world. This is why I went back to learn how to read and write”,
According to Akusiake, some of his children are in senior high school but his last child is currently a pupil in kindergarten.
He added that when he obtains pass marks, he would love to continue his education in a technical school and learn building and construction.
He acknowledged the role his wife has been playing in helping him achieve his desire to acquire formal education.
He noted that his presence at the school had brought a lot of discipline among the students, especially in his class.
His story is that of determination and desire to achieve what you crave for regardless of barriers and challenges.
