6-Year-Old Joins Top 0.1% of Smartest Children in the World, Sets Record as Youngest Author

At just six years old, British prodigy Jayce Joyce has joined the top 0.1% of the world’s smartest children with a Mensa IQ of 150, become the youngest author to publish a book series, and earned multiple national awards—all while inspiring children worldwide to read, write, and dream big.

A 6-year-old British boy, Jayce Joyce, has stunned the world with his remarkable intelligence and creativity. He has officially joined British Mensa—the world’s oldest high-IQ society—as one of the top 0.1% smartest children globally, and has already set a record as the youngest person to publish a book series simultaneously.

Jayce’s Early Genius: How It All Started

Jayce, from Sutton Coldfield in Birmingham, began showing signs of advanced intellect at just two years old—reading books and writing short words. By age three, he was documenting daily family activities with full scripts and posting them around the house and neighborhood.

“By the time he was three, he could write an entire script of what had happened that day,” said his mother, Anim.

Encouraged by other parents of gifted children, Anim helped Jayce publish two books:

  • “A Beach With No Sea”
  • “Jayce’s Sweet Tooth”

Both were released on World Book Day 2023—when Jayce was only four.

Academic Brilliance Confirmed

On his first day of school, Jayce surprised teachers by distributing notes about his classmates and instructors. Assessments revealed he had the reading level of a 6-year-old and writing skills of a 7-year-old—all at just 4 years old.

In April 2024, he was tested by Lyn Kendall, British Mensa’s Gifted Child Consultant, and scored 150 on an IQ test, placing him in the top 0.1% of children worldwide.

Awards & Global Recognition

Jayce’s accomplishments have earned him multiple prestigious accolades:

  • British Citizen Youth Award (BCyA) – Recognized at the House of Lords
  • Promising Laureate of the Year – Honored at the House of Commons
  • TruLittle Hero Awards 2024 – Winner in Academic and Scribe categories
  • Benjamin Zephaniah Future Writers Competition 2024 – Top 10 finalist for his poem “My Mummy”, written at age five

World Record Ambition

Jayce has already been acknowledged by the International Book of Records as the “Youngest Author to Write and Publish the Most Books of a Series Simultaneously.”

He now aims to enter the Guinness World Records, which will require selling 1,000 copies of each book in his series.

Inspiring the Next Generation

Despite his incredible journey, Jayce remains grounded and passionate about storytelling:

“I love writing because writing is fun. I like people to read what I write and to use their imagination and write their own stories too.”

He hopes to encourage other children to read, write, and dream big—making education more engaging and inclusive worldwide.
