Landmark University celebrated a record-breaking 71 First-Class graduates at its 11th convocation, highlighting the institution’s academic progress and recent global ranking achievements.


During Landmark University’s 11th convocation ceremony in Omu-Aran, Kwara State, 71 students graduated with First-Class honors on Friday, marking the highest number in the university’s history.
Themed “The Release of Pathfinders 2024,” the ceremony was led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kolawole O. Ajanaku, who highlighted the class’s notable achievements. According to the university’s broadcast, the event was held at the Multipurpose Hall on campus.
Prof. Ajanaku celebrated the record-setting graduates, calling it “a testament to our relentless pursuit of academic excellence.” Out of 617 undergraduates, 283 earned Second Class Upper, 252 received Second Class Lower, and 11 were awarded Third Class degrees. Additionally, 61 postgraduate degrees were conferred, including 11 Ph.D.s, 6 master’s, and 11 postgraduate diplomas.
Church Gist recognized the accomplishment on social media, marking the event as a historic achievement for Landmark University.
In his address, Ajanaku also noted the university’s recent standings in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, where it ranked 2nd in Nigeria, 3rd in West Africa, and 11th in Sub-Saharan Africa. “For the first time, Landmark has entered the world rankings, excelling in Research Environment and Research Quality,” he said.
Celebrating the Class of 2024 on social media, the university encouraged graduates to “make their mark on the world.” Distinguished guests included Chancellor Dr. David Oyedepo, Pastor Mrs. Faith Oyedepo, and other members of the Board of Regents.
