UNILORIN, ABU Zaria, FULAFIA, Others wins JAMB N500m Award

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has awarded a total of Five Hundred Million Nigerian Naira (N500,000,000) to recipients of the National Tertiary Admissions Performance Merit Award (NATAP-M Awards).

The 2020 award ceremony was held at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja, on Thursday, 21st July 2022, to cover the 2020 Admission Year.

Out of the N500m total package for the 2020 Award, 75 million naira went to each of the grand winners while 15 million naira went to each of the runner-ups and 10 million naira to each of the 2nd runners-up.

Publishing the grand winners of the 2020 NAPTAB-M Awards, JAMB said: University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) won the Institution of First Choice for Candidates (Most Subscribed University in Nigeria).

Kaduna Polytechnic won the Most National Institution in Admissions, and Federal University Lafia (FULAFIA) won the Most Improved Institution in Gender Balance.

Ahmadu Bellow University Zaria won the Institution with the Highest Number of International Students. While Covenant University won the Most Complaint Institution in keeping to the Admission Guidelines.

During the 2020 Edition, the Board announced that it has received the approval of the Hon. Minister of Education for another improvement as the 2021 Edition would attract 500m to the winner while the runners-up and the sectional champions would share 250m.

Hence the 2021 edition’s overall prize would be increased to 750 million naira as against the 500 million naira distributed in the 2020 Edition.
