Yobe State government has awarded N5 million to two secondary school brilliant students for fabricating harrowing and ploughing machines with local materials.


The state governor, Mai Mala Buni presented a N5 million cheque to Abdulhamid Maigari and Abubakar Mohammed, on Monday, August 1, 2022.
The young men are students of Government College, Gashua, Yobe, News Agency of Nigeria reports.
Buni, who presented the cheque to Maigari and Mohammed at a brief ceremony in Damaturu, said the largesse was to serve as a motivation for them.

He also noted that agriculture remained the major preoccupation of the Yobe people.
The governor said; “This administration will, therefore, continue to give the sector the priority attention it deserves.
“We shall also be in tune with the Federal Government’s policy on agriculture as one of the most important sectors of the nation’s economy”.
On their part, the students thanked the governor for the donation and said they would use the money to upgrade the machines.
