Federal Polytechnic, Idah Appoints New Rector.
This is to inform you that the Visitor to the Polytechnic and the President in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has approved the Appointment of Dr. Yahaya Baba Usman as the new Rector of the Institution.
Dr. Yahaya Baba Usman was born on 5th August, 1968 and hails from Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State.
He attended Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State for his B.Sc. in Statistics and the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria for his M.Sc and Ph.D.
He is a Fellow of Institute of Policy Management Development (FIPMD) and member, Nigeria Statistical Association (NSA) and Professional Statistics Society of Nigeria (PSSN).
Dr. Usman started his working career as Assistant Lecturer at Federal Polytechnic, Idah between 1997 – 1998 before transferring his services to The Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa in 1998 where he rose through the ranks to become Chief Lecturer on 1st January, 2017.
He is an astute academic scholar who have contributed immensely in knowledge dissemination in both local and foreign journals and attended various local and international conferences and workshops of repute.
He has also bagged various distinctive awards and honours in his fields of endeavour at different fora.
Dr. Usman is currently the Director, Academic Planning, Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa since 2019.
The appointment is for a single term of five years with effect from the date he assumes duty.
The Polytechnic Community is hereby, called upon to give the new Rector all necessary cooperation and support to move the Polytechnic to greater heights.
On behalf of the Governing Council, Academic Board, Management, Staff and Students of the Polytechnic, I wish the new Rector success in this onerous responsibility.
