The management of the University of Ilorin has announced plans to incorporate virtual/online classes in various faculties and departments due to the mobility problem experienced by a majority of its students.

A statement issued by the university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, on Monday, January 30, said that the virtual classes would run simultaneously with physical classes.
It further noted that about 500 user accounts of 300 capacity zoom licenses have been assigned to faculties and departments for effective virtual delivery of lectures. Also, a virtual class schedule for courses with class sizes of about 1,000, 3,000, and 5,000 students using the large capacity zoom licenses has been developed to accommodate the crowd.
It was gathered that students and staff of the school had complained bitterly about the problem of transportation along Tanke-University Road due to the unavailable of fuel and cash which prevents many students from getting to the campus on time for their lectures.
The school also directed that Time-table and Room Usages Committee adjust the lecture time-table to make it more flexible.
