Varsity Student Narrates How Nearly Dropped Out of School After N500,000 Disappeared From His Kuda Account

Cursory: Adeola Akande, a student of the University of Ilorin, has narrated how money was moved from his account. The young man said that the money was meant for his academics and because of it’s disappearance he almost dropped out. When he contacted the bank in question, they had answered him nonchalantly without giving any proper details to enable him take legal actions.

Adeola Akande, a student of the University of Ilorin, has narrated how he nearly dropped out in 300 level after someone stole N500,000 from his Kuda account.

According to him, the money meant for his school and hostel fees was moved from his account by an unknown person.

“On November 20, N250,000 was withdrawn from my account twice by someone I didn’t know,” Akande said.

“I instantly reached out to Kuda to complain because I did not authorize the transaction.”

The young man said that when he reached out to the bank, the institution responded half-heartedly and failed to provide the beneficiary’s contact so he could process a court order.

“After dozens of complaints and emails to Kuda, they responded partially and sent a flimsy fraud report.

“Also, they stopped responding to my inquiries, which is frustrating.”

Akande told reporters that the fraud nearly cost him his admission and he had to squat with people because he couldn’t afford to pay his rent.

“I nearly lost my admission in my current level because I couldn’t afford to pay my school fee,” he said.

“I am still in school because my classmates contributed money to keep me there. The session was a crucial one and I couldn’t afford to lose it.

“Presently, I squat with my friend, which is making schooling harder for me.”

Reports gatherd that Akande’s school and hostel fees were transferred into an account with the description ‘Media Mart Entertainment Ltd’.

In an email exchange between Akande and Kuda, the bank stated that his money was later transferred from the media account into one Basir Sammy account, where it was spent on betting and gambling.
