15-Year-Old Girl Graduates U.S. High School with Honors Set To Earn Bachelors Degree At 19

Cursory: Brilliant girl, Zaalyiah Gidden graduated from Stocken High School in just two years, rather than the typical four. She’s now pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business and IT Management at Western Governors University with aspirations of starting her own cybersecurity business.

A remarkable 15-year-old girl, Zaalyiah Gidden, has accomplished the extraordinary feat of completing her high school education at Stocken High School with impressive grades.

Zaalyiah, a resident of Stocken, achieved her high school diploma in just two years, a significant acceleration from the standard four-year duration. She attributes her success to her unwavering dedication, persistence, and the steadfast support of her family.

Zaalyiah credits her accelerated graduation to a program her parents enrolled her in, recognizing her early aptitude for learning when she gravitated towards puzzles over toys and outpaced her peers as early as the first grade.

“I was told I couldn’t, that I can only graduate in 11th grade or a semester early in 12th grade. So I had the idea to graduate two years early, and I did just that,”she said.

“On the hard days where I didn’t want to get up to do the work, maybe a motivational conversation or just a check-in or something small like a hug, I think, was the biggest motivation,” she added.

Zaalyiah Gidden’s mother, Victoria Webb-Giddens, explained that she had to seek out online courses in collaboration with a college to expedite her daughter’s education.

She noticed that the conventional school system was progressing too slowly for Zaalyiah.

Victoria mentioned that Zaalyiah was completing entire semesters’ worth of coursework in just one to two days, which prompted the need for a more accelerated learning approach.

”She was finishing the classes in one to two days. A whole semester’s worth of courses in one to two days,” she said.

Gidden said her parents registered her at California Virtual Academy as they did not have the funds to support her education at a private school.

“She put in so much effort, late nights, early mornings. Some days, she was up before me. She was committed, and when she went to graduation, everybody was shocked because she was the only 15-year-old while everyone else was 18 and 19 years old,” she said.

Zaalyiah Gidden expressed that her desire to graduate early stemmed from not wanting to spend the traditional four years in high school.

However, her main motivation was to set a high standard for her achievements. Her outstanding academic performance led to her graduation from both the National Honor Society and the National Junior Honor Society.

Currently, Zaalyiah is enrolled at Western Governors University in the United States, where she is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business and IT Management. Her long-term goal is to establish her own cybersecurity business.
