The University of Birmingham in the UK has announced the opening of applications for its CENTRE-UB scholarship, providing an opportunity for international students from Nigeria to pursue their PhD studies in the UK at no cost.
The CENTRE-UB scholarship is fully funded, offering a tuition waiver and a living stipend of £19,237 (equivalent to N30 million).
This financial support ensures that PhD students selected for the scholarship are supported financially throughout their study period.
The living stipend will be disbursed in monthly instalments until the completion of the program.
To qualify for the scholarship, prospective candidates must have achieved at least a second-class upper division from a UK university or an equivalent qualification from a non-UK university.
The application deadline is May 16, 2024, and interviews for shortlisted candidates will be conducted in June 2024. Interested applicants are required to submit their academic transcripts, CV, references, and the CENTRE-UB application form.
Only four candidates will be selected for scholarships in the 2024/2025 academic year. The university welcomes applications from both domestic and international candidates.
