On TikTok, Sarah’s video documenting the creation of her dress amassed over 16 million views. The dress, which would have cost $60 (R1,090.37) to make, took her about three days to complete.
Inspired by Zendaya’s pink satin Valentino gown at the 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Sarah’s gown features pink fabric with 3D rose detailing on the bottom.
The 18-year-old has transformed her passion for fashion into a thriving business with the launch of her fashion label, Oyinda’s.
As an advocate for environmental sustainability, Sarah takes pride in her brand’s trendy, eco-friendly fashion pieces. She aims to redefine crochet by creating colorful, stylish, and versatile items.
Sarah’s designs have been showcased in various fashion shows, highlighting her commitment to using sustainable materials.
Her journey began at her school’s fashion show in May 2023, followed by shows at the Bogosplit market in Boston, and her debut at the Boston Caribbean Fashion Week in November 2023.
