Photos of 21-Year-Old Kwara College Student Celebrating Her Sign-Out Emerge 3 Weeks Before Her Body Was Discovered at a Refuse Site

Three weeks after celebrating her sign-out, 21-year-old Kwara State College of Health Technology student Awesu Mojisola Oluwafunmike was found dead at a dumpsite, following her mysterious disappearance after being lured to Ilorin under false pretenses.

Awesu Mojisola Oluwafunmike, a 21-year-old final-year student from the Kwara State College of Health Technology in Offa, was recently found dead at a dumpsite. Just three weeks prior, Mojisola had celebrated her sign-out, sharing photos and videos from the event before she went missing on August 9, 2024.

According to reports, Mojisola’s mother works as a cleaner for the Ogun State Waste Management Agency, as shared by Kwara lecturer, Prof. Anifowose Olamilekan.

Mojisola’s roommate, Miss Blessing O., recounted that on August 9, Mojisola received a phone call from a Miss Timileyin, who informed her about an event organized by students of Summit University and Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin. Timileyin introduced Mojisola to Mr. Adebayo Happiness, a student from Summit University, who allegedly offered her a job to pose as his girlfriend at a night party for a fee of 15,000 Naira.

Upon arriving in Ilorin, Mojisola informed her roommate that she felt uneasy at the hotel where she had been lodged by Adebayo Happiness, and noted that there was no party at the location. Shortly after this conversation, Mojisola’s phone was turned off, and Miss Blessing’s attempts to reach her were unsuccessful.

On August 12, 2024, at around 7:30 AM, a resident of the Aleniboro area in Ilorin, identified as Olorunoje, reported to the police that laborers had discovered a body at a dumpsite near the area.

According to DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, detectives were dispatched to the scene where they found and photographed Mojisola’s body. During the initial investigation, traces of blood were found near her left ear, confirming suspicions of foul play.
