LASU Security Tips & Awareness For Students Ahead Of The 1st Semester Exams for the 2024/2025 Academic Session.

In anticipation of the upcoming First Semester Examination for the 2024/2025 academic session, all Full-Time undergraduate students of the University are hereby advised to adhere strictly to the following security guidelines to ensure their safety on and off campus:

  1. Display of Identity Cards: It is mandatory for students to wear their Identity Cards at all times while on campus and to carry them when off campus.
  2. Compliance with Dress Code: Students are required to observe all university protocols and regulations, particularly those pertaining to dress code.
  3. Night Reading Protocols for Off-Campus Students: Students residing off-campus who wish to engage in night reading activities are advised to enter the campus early and depart only when visibility is adequate.
  4. Group Movement for On-Campus Students: Students residing on campus are encouraged to walk in groups when going to and from lecture rooms during night reading sessions.
  5. Caution with Commercial Transportation: Students should exercise vigilance when boarding commercial vehicles, ensuring they utilise designated bus stops and avoid vehicles without number plates or those that do not conform to the official color of Lagos commercial vehicles.
  6. Selection of Hostel Locations: It is recommended that students avoid residing in hostels located in areas that are not populated by fellow students.
  7. Avoidance of Solitary Travel at Night: Students are advised to avoid walking alone after 8:00 p.m. outside the university gate and to travel in the company of peers.
  8. Increased Vigilance in Specific Areas: Students should remain alert, particularly in areas such as First Gate, Agboroko, Iyana School, Alaba Rago, and LASU Badagry Gate during nighttime.
  9. Communication of Whereabouts: It is advisable for students to inform peers and family members of their whereabouts when leaving their homes or hostels.
  10. Use of Well-Lit Areas: When walking alone on campus or in nearby areas at night, students are encouraged to stick to well-lit paths.
  11. Caution Regarding Offers of Transportation: Students should exercise discretion and caution when accepting lifts from individuals they do not know.
  12. Safeguarding Personal Information: Students are advised against sharing personal information, such as home addresses or phone numbers, on social media platforms.
