At 61, Mosunmola Kudirat Ariwoola fulfilled her lifelong dream by earning a PhD from UNILORIN, proving it’s never too late to pursue education and inspire others.

Mosunmola Kudirat Ariwoola, a 61-year-old Nigerian woman, has fulfilled her lifelong dream by earning a PhD in Educational Technology from the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), showing the world that determination knows no age limit.
Growing up in a time when female education was not prioritized, Mosunmola missed the chance to attend school as a child. However, at the age of 20, she took her future into her own hands, returning to her hometown to enroll in school on her own initiative.
“I had no one to motivate or encourage me, but I knew what I wanted, so I stuck to it,” she shared.
Despite the late start, Mosunmola pursued her education with relentless dedication, eventually achieving what once seemed impossible—a doctorate degree.
Reflecting on her journey, she credited her success to her unwavering determination, strong will, and the support of her children.
“A PhD program is very demanding, especially at my age, but with the help of God, my determination, and my family’s support, I made it,” she said joyfully.
Now proudly holding a PhD, Mosunmola hopes her story inspires women everywhere to never give up on their goals.
“My advice to women is that there’s no limit to what you can achieve. No dream is too late to pursue. Be diligent, stay focused, and keep praying,” she said.
Mosunmola is now an advocate for women’s empowerment, calling for equal opportunities and encouraging women of all ages to prioritize education and personal growth.
