The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu has enjoined Corps Members to participate actively in developmental activities that would take Nigeria to enviable heights.

General Nafiu gave this charge while addressing the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream Two Corps Members at the Kaduna State Temporary Orientation Camp, Government College, Kurmi-Mashi, Kaduna.
He said that as future leaders, the responsibility of taking the country to greater heights rested on their shoulders. They were therefore advised to take charge of affairs that affect them, starting from their service year.
General Nafiu encouraged them to imbibe virtues of good leadership like; discipline, hardwork, integrity, selflessness among others, as these would prepare them for the task ahead.
The Director General further stated that the Government believed in the ability of Corps Members to make a difference and therefore, he was counting on them to put in their best in service to their fatherland.
“Wherever you are posted to, play your part and play it well. Use the period of National Service to plan ahead for your future.”
Speaking further, he admonished them to make responsible use of the social media and create good contents that would serve to unite the country and project the Scheme very well.
Also try to build your network of friends across geo-political zones because of the future”, General said.
He advised that the Corps Members use the skills they acquired during the SAED in-camp training to create businesses, employ others and thereby reduce the unemployment rate in the country.
The Director General warned them not to try to impose their cultures on those of their host communities after the Orientation Course but rather endeavour to learn and appreciate new cultures.
In her Orientation Camp situation report to the Director General, the NYSC Kaduna State Coordinator, Mrs Efeke Murna Dadaza stated that Justice Nana Fatima Mohammed administered the Oath of Allegiance on the 2,196 Corps Members deployed to the State on behalf of the Chief Judge.
She commended their comportment and active participation in Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training, likewise other Camp activities.
