Kenechukwu Uba, a student of Caleb International College, Nigeria, made history by emerging the world’s highest scorer in the 2024 IGCSE English Language exam, earning the Cambridge Outstanding Learner Award and “Top in the World” title, a feat celebrated as a major pride for Nigeria and Africa.


Kenechukwu Uba, a Nigerian student, achieved global recognition as the highest scorer in English Language worldwide in 2024 IGCSE exams. She earned the Cambridge Outstanding Learner Award and “Top in the World” title in English as a Second Language (Speaking Endorsement).
Kenechukwu, from Caleb International College, Nigeria, wrote the exam in SS3, beating students globally. She received her award at the British Council Recognition ceremony, celebrated by educators and guests worldwide.
Louise Hendey, Cambridge International Education MD, described her success as a source of pride for Nigeria and Africa. Kenechukwu received a standing ovation, inspiring students globally.
Her school director, Dr. Ola Adebogun, credited success to Caleb’s academic excellence and staff dedication. Kenechukwu attributed success to inspiring teachers, peers, and state-of-the-art facilities.
“Preparing for the speaking endorsement sharpened my confidence. This recognition belongs to everyone – mentors, classmates, family,” she said. Hendey noted the award celebrates Kenechukwu and her supportive academic environment.
