Man wins $200k scholarship in the US and goes on to earn two masters degrees at once, here is how he did it

Emmanuel Animashaun, a Nigerian doctor who trained at University of Ilorin and Wesley Guild Hospital, won over $200,000 in scholarships to earn two master’s degrees simultaneously—an MPH and MBA—from Johns Hopkins University in three years after securing multiple U.S. offers (including Yale University, Harvard University, and Emory University), gaining top honors like Delta Omega, global research exposure, and policy experience to advance equitable healthcare worldwide.

Emmanuel Animashaun, a brilliant Nigerian, secured over $200,000 scholarship, earning dual master’s degrees simultaneously from Johns Hopkins University. He completed Master of Public Health (MPH) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 3 years, graduating 2025.

Emmanuel’s journey began with MBBS from University of Ilorin, Nigeria, followed by house officer training at Wesley Guild Hospital. Driven to expand impact, he applied for US scholarships, securing offers from Yale, Harvard, Emory, and more.

Choosing Johns Hopkins, he concentrated on Health Systems/Policy (MPH) and Health Technology/Innovation (MBA), plus Public Health Economics Certificate. “Overwhelming as international student,” he says, “but supportive community helped grow.”
