First-Class Graduate who Begged for Work on Street with a CV Board Gets Dream Job Within 3 Hours

24-Year-Old First-Class Graduate who Begged for Work on Street with a CV Board Gets Dream Job Within 3 Hours.

24-year-old man, Haider Malik had gone viral on the internet after he took to the street with his CV on a notice board to beg for a job.

In his LinkedIn post which he made capturing his desperate steps, Malik appears well-dressed posing beside an erected notice board that states that he is a first-class banking and finance graduate looking for an entry-level scheme.

It was reported that Malik did not only erect a notice board but went further to print a copy of his CV and handed them to passers-by at the Canary Wharf in East London.

Malik is a graduate of Middlesex University London. He said he got tired of unfruitful job interviews online via Zoom meetings where he wasn’t opportune to showcase his personality.

According to him, he had begun the search for a job since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 which was not fruitful. He stated that he drew inspiration to go to the street to hunt for job from his 67-year-old father Mehmood Malik.

He described his ordeal as follows:

”The first five minutes or 10 minutes I felt nervous because I was standing there empty-handed.
”I found it really awkward. I didn’t know what I was doing, I found it really weird.
”I had all my CVs in my bag. I was standing there empty-handed trying to look at people and hoping to meet people rather than being proactive and speaking to them.” Malik said.

He however bagged his dream job 3 hours after his hunt.

Within an hour, he had given out all his CVs and got a surprise text asking him to come for an interview for the role of treasury analyst at the Canary Wharf Group.

In his words he said: “They interviewed me on the 30th floor of a building and I’m overlooking Canary Wharf thinking: ‘Wow, I never expected to be interviewed here let alone potentially about to get a job.'”

He later get more calls but the young man had already been hired.

What could be learnt from this is, do things in a different manner, perhaps you could get a different result. Taking job seeking to the street would sound outrageous but it has turned out positive for Malik.
