The decision followed the consideration of favourable reports submitted by external assessors, affirming that the beneficiaries satisfied the University’s stringent requirements for academic advancement.

The promotions were approved during the 108th Regular Meeting of the University Senate held on Thursday, July 2, 2026. They take effect from October 1, 2025, in line with recommendations of the Appointment and Promotion Committee, which were subsequently ratified by the University Council after the successful evaluation of the candidates’ teaching, research, publications, community service, and other academic contributions.

A memo presented to the Senate by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammed Hadi Sulaiman indicated that the promoted staff had fulfilled all the prescribed conditions for elevation to their new academic ranks following positive assessments by independent external evaluators.

The Institution believes that investing in the professional growth of its academic staff is essential to sustaining high standards in teaching, research, innovation, and service delivery.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Hadi Sulaiman, congratulated the newly promoted academics, describing their elevation as a recognition of years of dedication, perseverance, and scholarly achievement.
