Remilekun graduated with first-class honors in Accounting Education, securing the award for LASU’s overall best graduating student for the 2015/2016 academic year.
She received her certificate and award while heavily pregnant with her first child, standing out among the 36,489 students who graduated that year.
Remilekun credits her success to her resilience and determination. She revealed that she took the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) 7 times before gaining admission. Over seven years, she applied to various universities, including three unsuccessful attempts at Obafemi Awolowo University.
She nearly gave up after repeated rejections but persevered with the support of her sister and father. In 2012, she was finally admitted to LASU.
During her wait for admission, Remilekun did not remain idle. Following her sister’s advice, she pursued a professional career and became an Associate Chartered Accountant in 2010 through the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
Encouraging others in similar situations, Remilekun advised them to stay determined and persevere through adversity.
