The Senate of the Federal University Lokoja has approved the establishment of the Federal University Lokoja Business School (FULBS)

This mark another significant step in the institution’s drive to broaden its academic offerings and strengthen professional postgraduate education.
The decision was taken at the University’s 102nd Senate Meeting, chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, Prof. S. D. Musa.
The Business School is expected to expand the University’s academic profile by providing advanced professional and executive education that responds to the changing demands of industry, governance, entrepreneurship, and the global economy.
Presenting his address at the meeting, Professor Ibileye described the proposed Business School as part of the administration’s commitment to expanding the University’s academic frontiers and positioning Federal University Lokoja as a centre of excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and professional development.
The Senate approval adds to a series of academic reforms currently being pursued by the University, including the successful resource verification of fourteen new academic programmes, ongoing accreditation efforts, and investments in research, infrastructure, and staff development.
With the Senate’s approval, the University is expected to commence the processes required for the takeoff of the Business School in line with regulatory requirements and institutional guidelines.
This development reflects the University’s determination to deepen academic excellence while creating new opportunities for professional education, executive training, and industry engagement.
