The Police have arrested a secondary school teacher, Azunyere Chima, for defiling his 14-year old student.


Azunyere was apprehended following a report by the father of the victim who reported at Ibafo divisional headquarters that his daughter was lured to the house of the suspect who happened to be her Art teacher.
The teacher under the pretence of assisting the girl with her practical work invited her to his home and on getting there, the suspect dragged her into his room, over powered and forcefully had sex with her.
The impact left the girl bleeding profusely from her private part.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi in a release, said the Divisional Police Officer for Ibafo, Abiodun Ayinde, a Superintendent of Police (SP) detailed his detectives to the residence of the suspect at Unity Close, Aseese, and arrested him.
Abimbola, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) said further that the suspect had made useful statement to the Police while the victim has been taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
The Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson, has directed that the suspect be transferred to Anti-human Trafficking and Child Labour unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department(SCIID) for proper investigation and prosecution.
