AAU Ekpoma Matriculation Ceremony: The Edo State-owned Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, matriculated no fewer than 5,187 students on Tuesday, covering 63 programmes.

The students were urged to adhere to the laid-down rules governing studentship at the university.
Administering the oath to the new students, the acting Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Asomwan Adagbonyin, supported by principal management and academic officers, urged the students to approach their studies with dedication and commitment.
“The university will continue to expect that all admitted students fulfil their obligations to the university to matriculate.
As you celebrate your studentship, my dear matriculants, my advice to you is to approach your studies with an individualistic mindset.
As the saying goes: ‘Those that walk, walk with many, those that run, run with few, but those that fly, fly alone.’
“Life is indeed a race of individuality, and this applies to your studies as well. Therefore, take your studies seriously as an individual.
Avoid things that may lead you into trouble or bring shame upon you, your family, and your university.
“Do not join those who say or write negative things about your university. This is the place you have chosen, of your own free will, to come and pursue a degree.
Do not undermine its reputation, as it will only reflect negatively on yourself. Be a worthy ambassador at all times,” the Vice Chancellor advised.
Professor Adagbonyin disclosed that there has been strict adherence to the admission quota set by JAMB, emphasizing that the university admits only the best students in line with this policy.
Regarding security matters, the acting Vice-Chancellor urged the students to be more vigilant about their surroundings, as the university management will always strive to provide the necessary security to ensure the safety of lives and property.
He added, “Every individual should be security conscious, both within and outside the university campus.”
The 40th Matriculation Ceremony of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, for the 2022–2023 academic session saw students taking the matriculation oath and signing it.
Parents, family, and friends of the matriculants were visibly jubilant on the university’s main campus after the ceremony.
