21-year-old Student Intrigues Netizens as She Introduces Yummy Packaged Garri for Sale

Cursory: A 21-year-old Nigerian student’s packaging of garri, dubbed Garfait, has taken the internet by storm. She claims that garfait, a filling blend of garri, groundnuts, sugar, milk, and toppings, is one’s savior when hunger strikes. The Abia State University Uturu 400-level student revealed to Legit.ng what was the real inspiration for the garri parfait, which has gained more and more fans ever since her idea went viral.

Emenike Maureen Nneoma, a 400-level student at Abia State University Uturu, has gained notoriety for combining garri, groundnuts, toppings, sugar, and milk to create what she dubbed Garfait.

The 21-year-old writer and entrepreneur, who is showcasing the branded packed garri on Facebook, claimed that she was never allowed to eat garri because her parents believed, like many others, that it was a food for the underprivileged.

But Maureen claimed that she did not share that opinion and started to yearn for the processed cassava. The young woman explained that she chose to crown garri as king because she believed it deserved more respect.

She then introduced Divine Chidi Duke, the president of the ABSU chapter of the Garri Drinkers Association (GDA), as the ambassador for Garfait.

According to Maureen Garfait, an Abia State native from Uzuakoli, Bende LGA, Duke was her inspiration.

In her words:

As a child, my parents didn’t let me take garri. They, like most Nigerians believe garri is a meal for poor people who have no meal options.

Growing up, I began to randomly crave garri. I didn’t see it as a “Sapa” meal. If anything, I hold something as universal and available as garri in high esteem.

I believe garri deserves more respect. Which is why I have decided to crown it King!

Ladies and gentlemen, behold Garfait! A rich combination of Garri, milk, sugar and toppings. Your saving grace when hunger comes knocking. Just add water!
