Jideobi Amaka, a brilliant Nigerian lady who funded her education by selling bean cake (akara), has graduated from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria, becoming the first graduate in her family.
Amaka earned her bachelor’s degree in Guidance and Counselling from Nnamdi Azikiwe University. She proudly shared her achievement on LinkedIn, highlighting the hard work and dedication that went into earning her degree.
After high school, Amaka moved from her village to a more developed area in search of better opportunities but struggled to find a job. Inspired by her mother, she decided to start selling bean cake. She began the business with 20,000 naira, gradually growing it until she could afford to enroll in university.
Amaka noted the challenges of balancing her full-time business with her studies over the past five years. Despite these difficulties, her akara business supported her education and every other aspect of her life. She expressed her excitement and pride in finally achieving her dream.
