Adedeji Olushola Michael, a Nigerian man, has graduated with first-class honors in Economics, achieving a 4.80/5.00 CGPA, and won the overall best-graduating student award at Obafemi Awolowo University in Southwest Nigeria.
Olushola celebrated his academic success on LinkedIn, highlighting his top performance as the best student in both the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Department of Economics, where he also excelled in Macroeconomics Theory.
Reflecting on his journey, Olushola shared how he faced mockery and self-doubt after secondary school when he struggled to gain admission to his dream university. However, with the support of his mother and friends, he persevered, balancing part-time jobs with his studies.
Despite challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and academic strikes, Olushola remained focused, received scholarships, volunteered, and held leadership positions. He hopes his story inspires others to keep pushing through difficulties, believing success will follow.
