Brilliant Young Boy Wins Full-Ride Scholarship to Two US Universities

Jonathan Nguyen, a remarkable young student from Hanoi, has been awarded a full-ride scholarship to two prestigious universities in the United States. He is one out of thirty six awardees of the Robertson Scholarship worldwide.

Jonathan Nguyen, a remarkable young student from Hanoi, has been awarded a full-ride scholarship to two prestigious universities in the United States.

A graduate of St. Michaels University School (SMUS) in Canada, Jonathan has earned the Robertson Scholarship, which allows him to study at both the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and Duke University.

The Robertson Scholars Program covers full tuition, room, and board, while also providing students with the opportunity to take courses at both universities. In addition, the program includes leadership training experiences and funded summer learning opportunities.

Jonathan is one of only 36 students worldwide to receive this prestigious scholarship, which combines financial support with leadership development.

During his time at SMUS, Jonathan was selected by his peers and teachers to serve as Head Prefect in his Grade 12 year. In this role, he worked closely with the Prefect Council and the school administration to represent the student body.

Graham Lilly, Jonathan’s Advanced Placement teacher, praised his positive energy and enthusiasm, noting that it greatly benefited the classroom environment.

“He quickly grasped new ideas, prepared thoroughly for each class, and asked insightful questions that helped his classmates understand complex concepts. His enthusiasm is contagious,” Graham said.
