Mr. Olaniran Satiregun, Rector of the International College of Administration, Science and Technology in Nasarawa, was sentenced to seven years in prison for admitting students into unapproved courses and defrauding them, with the court also ordering refunds and restricting the college to its accredited programmes.

A Federal High Court in Lafia, Nasarawa State, has sentenced Mr. Olaniran Satiregun, Rector of the International College of Administration, Science and Technology, to seven years in prison for operating unaccredited academic programmes and defrauding students.
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) disclosed in a statement that Satiregun’s institution unlawfully admitted students into courses such as Nursing, Public Health, and Computer Science between 2019 and 2021. However, the college had approval from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to offer only four accredited programmes.
During the trial, lead prosecutor Adesina Raheem explained that a student, Onmonya Daniel Ogah, paid ₦110,000 for admission into a fictitious three-year programme. The court found the rector guilty on all counts.
Justice Anyalewa Onoja-Alapa sentenced Satiregun to seven years imprisonment without the option of a fine. The court also ordered the refund of all fees collected under the illegal programmes and directed the college to operate strictly within its accredited offerings.
