The Kogi State governor announced automatic employment for CUSTECH’s best graduates while pledging continued investment, improved security, and support to develop the state’s universities into centres of excellence.

The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo, has announced immediate employment for the top-performing graduates of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara.
He made the declaration during the university’s first combined convocation ceremony, applauding former Governor Yahaya Bello for establishing the institution.
Ododo praised the pioneer staff and students for their dedication and resilience, noting that their commitment has justified the efforts put into building the university. He reassured the audience that his administration remains committed to supporting the institution, despite limited resources, because of the vital role universities play in developing skilled human capital.
He emphasized that the state government will continue investing in its tertiary institutions to ensure they remain competitive nationally, accessible to citizens, and capable of producing quality graduates. Ododo reiterated his ambition to make all three state-owned universities—each located in different senatorial districts—centres of academic excellence capable of achieving notable scientific and technological innovations.
Addressing past security concerns at CUSTECH, the governor explained that the state has strengthened security systems around the campus, resulting in a safer environment and a steady rise in student admissions. He commended the university’s management for overcoming early challenges and transforming the school into a preferred destination for students.
