Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, has officially welcomed over 2,000 students for the 2024/2025 academic session during its 5th matriculation ceremony.


The event, held on the university campus, was a vibrant celebration of new beginnings and academic aspirations.
In his address, the Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, delivered a powerful message to the newly admitted students, urging them to steer clear of social vices that could hinder their academic progress and future success.
“You must avoid all forms of social vices, including cultism, inappropriate attire, examination misconduct, sexual impropriety, fraudulent activities, and antisocial behaviors that could jeopardize your future,” Prof. Salawu warned. He emphasized that their time at CUSTECH Osara is a golden opportunity to lay a strong foundation for their careers and personal growth.
The Vice Chancellor also encouraged students to maximize the academic resources and opportunities available at the university. He reiterated CUSTECH’s commitment to providing quality education and fostering an environment that promotes learning, innovation, and excellence.
CUSTECH Osara, a rapidly growing institution received over 3,000 applications for the 2024/2025 academic session but admitted slightly over 2,000 students due to limited spaces. This highlights the university’s rising reputation and the competitive nature of its admissions process.
In a major development, the university has established a new Faculty of Medical Sciences, admitting 300 students for the current academic session. This expansion reflects CUSTECH’s dedication to addressing critical manpower needs in the healthcare sector and diversifying its academic programs.
The matriculation oath was administered by the University Registrar, Ms. Olufunke Hudson, who reminded students of their responsibilities as members of the university community. She stressed that matriculation is not just a ceremonial event but a formal induction into the institution, complete with rights and obligations.
