Edo State College of Nursing Sciences Gets a New Provost

Mrs Mabel Omobude has been appointed as the second substantive Provost of Edo State College of Nursing Sciences by His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Executive Governor of Edo State.

The appointment of Mrs Omobude takes immediate effect.
She takes over from Professor Patricia Ucheoma Ukaigwe whose tenure as Provost expired recently.

In a letter signed by the Secretary to Edo State Government, Musa Umar Ikhilor Esq, the appointment of Mrs Omobude as the 2nd Substantive Provost of the College according to the Governor is borne out of her huge experience and expertise in the nursing profession which clearly demonstrates her professionalism with regard to the development of the healthcare sector. The appointment of Mrs Omobude is also synonymous with the passionate desire of the Governor Okpebholo in ensuring a well structured, standard and comprehensive healthcare system mounted by competent and qualified manpower in conformity with global best practices.

Until her recent appointment, Mrs Mabel Omobude was the Deputy Provost of the College and also a former Principal of the defunct School of Nursing before the institution was later upgraded to a College status by Edo State Government of Nigeria

Mrs Omobude holds a Masters Degree in Nursing Sciences, a postgraduate Diploma in Education, a postgraduate Diploma in Public Health Nursing, a Registered Nurse and Midwife, a fellow of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria NMCN, and the Nigeria National Association of Nurses and Midwives. NNANM

Mrs Omobude vast experience in nursing/midwifery and healthcare education span over two decades and of course an author of both local and international healthcare journals.
