Eight Corps Members Kidnapped on their Way to Camp

Cursory: Gunmen kidnapped eight National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members along a highway in Zamfara on Saturday.

Insecurity has become a major factor facing Nigerians. This factor, insecurity is no respecter of individual or what a person represents in the society at a large.

And that has subjeted it into surfacing in the face of innocent citizen that are their war to serve the clarion call of their great country.

According to Premium Times, The corps members were on their way to Sokoto State via Zamfara State, when their bus, operated by AKTC, was stopped along the highway in Zamfara.

It was learnt that they were 11 Corps Members in the bus, but three of them managed to escaped to get away from the gunmen.

The gunmen had to abduct eight of the remaining Corps Members, inclusively, the driver.

“The corps Members left here (Uyo) on Friday, and slept over in Abuja. It was when they were proceeding to Sokoto that they were kidnapped. They were offloaded (from the bus) and taken into the bush, Though the police has recovered the bus.” Premium Times reported.

Approximately 9:14 a.m. on Sunday, Malachy Blessed, a Facebook user, revealed in a post that one of the kidnapped corps members was Emmanuel Esudue, an alumnus of Akwa Ibom State University’s Department of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering.

According to him, the phone number of the corps member has not been reachable since Thursday.

Betty Udofia, another victim recognized as posted by another Facebook user, Edidiong Richard. He claimed that the kidnappers had gotten in touch with Ms. Udofia’s parents and were requesting a ransom of N4 million.
