Throughout secondary school, Arinze consistently achieved outstanding academic performance. His passion for chemistry grew due to the presence of a skilled chemistry teacher, which led to choosing chemistry as their field of study at UNIZIK (Nnamdi Azikiwe University).

He sat for the UTME and obtained a score of 276, securing the highest score in chemistry and performing very well in the aptitude test. During his university years, he encountered numerous challenges while catering for his financial need and juggling work, stress, and academic responsibilities, a process he found very had to manage.

“I sat for UTME and scored 276 with the highest score in chemistry and a very high score in apptitude test. I faced alot of challenges in the university as I trained my self all through my school years. Combining works, stress and academics at the same time is not an easy task.”

At times, Arinze felt the urge to drop out, but they persevered and ultimately succeeded. There were occasions when he had to skip lectures for a month to engage in menial jobs such as working as a manual laborer in a table water company and a small paint industry.

Despite missing assignments and tests, he still emerged as the top student. In fact, the pressures of university life motivated them to strive for excellence. He encountered a mix of good and bad friends during their time in school.

While he was a very sociable individual, he never succumbed to peer pressure, neither did he allow situations to influence his person. He adapted well to different situations and appeared very unserious when it came to academics, rarely asking questions in class. However, at the end of the day, his academic results spoke volumes about their dedication.

He regarded scoring 100% in exams as their sole aspiration. Due to missing classes, he heavily relied on YouTube for supplementary learning, treating it as his second source of receiving lectures. When the results were released, he would consistently achieved scores as high as 98% in theory courses and expected no less than 90% in most subjects.

The brilliant young man even achieved a perfect 5/5 CGPA in a semester attributing attributed his success to divine intervention. Although their exam writing skills may not have been exceptional, his final grades often turned out to be excellent, with only a few instances of receiving a B grade throughout their time at Unizik, as the majority were A grades.

“One may think I am the dumbest student in the class because mere looking at me,I look so unserious to learning, but it’s only my result that speaks loud for me,I hardy ask question in a class.

“My only hope was to score 100% in the exam. Missing classes made me to clinged to You tube learning as my second lecture. When the results come out, I will make up to 98% in a theory courses. I do expect not less than 90% score in most courses.

“I have made 5/5 CGPA in a semester. It’s been God all the way. Sometimes, I may not write so well in the exam but once results come out I will make A in the course. It’s just few B I made all my stay in the unizik, the rest was A.”

Currently, Arinze is serving at Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, and he aspire to further their education either within or outside Nigeria. The young chemist has a keen interest in specializing in Organic Chemistry for his master’s degree, aiming to utilize the acquired knowledge as a contribution to nation-building.

He also emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive outlook and expecting the best. Arinze also advised on the importance of seeking additional learning resources like YouTube, which can provide comprehensive knowledge at no cost.

He dedicated two hours every day to studying chemistry and stress the importance of setting aside time for private reading.

“Always hope for the best, sometimes the class room teaching may not be enough, you need to learn more in You tube , believe me everything is made easy and free at no cost. It will give you a broad and intense knowdge of the course. I brought 2 hours of my time everyday to study chemistry.Always have time for your private reading.”
