“Even slaves should not attend Yenagoa campus of Nigerian Law School,” says Gov Wike

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has condemned the poor state of the Yenagoa campus of Nigerian Law school, adding that even slaves shouldn’t be allowed o study there.

According to reports by Peoples Gazette, Mr Wike said this when the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, led by its chairman, Opeyemi Bamidele, paid him a courtesy.

In his words: “You’ll never allow your slave to attend the campus in Yenagoa”.

“From the record I checked, Nigerian Law School has never gotten more than N61 million to fund the Law School yearly.

“I made a special appeal to support to Council of Legal Education to rehabilitate the campus in Abuja, and the director-general said, ‘No, we have more problems in Yenagoa, leave Abuja’,” Wike added.

The reports also have it that the Governor is currently investing at least N5.1 billion on the Yenagoa campus in efforts to change its current state.
