The Borno state Governor, Prof Babagana Zulum has confirmed reports of the proposed establishment of a federal polytechnic in Monguno part of the state, by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.


The polytechnic is said to be the first federal polytechnic to be sited in the state.
Zulum confirmed the approval on Monday, January 25, when he paid a ‘thank you visit’ to the minister of education, Malam Adamu Adamu, at the federal secretariat in Abuja.
The governor praised President Buhari for approving the new Polytechnic and extended his gratitude to the minister of education, Malam Adamu Adamu for recommending the approval.
The education minister, Mallam Adamu Adamu in response informed the governor that in addition to the federal polytechnic, Borno will soon have a federal college of education like its counterparts across the 36 states.
