FG Unveils Cloud Server for Enhanced Education

The Federal Government has launched the Electric Quality Assurance Platform (FEQAS), a cloud server developed with UBEC and NASRDA, to modernize and enhance the evaluation and monitoring of education quality in Nigeria.

The Federal Government has launched the Electric Quality Assurance Platform for Federal Quality Assurance Services (FEQAS), a cloud server designed to enhance the quality of education in Nigeria.

Developed in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), the platform aims to modernize the evaluation of educational standards across the country.

Speaking at the launch in Abuja, the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Yusuf Sununu, represented by the Director of ICT, Ministry of Education, Abubakar Isah, emphasized the cloud server’s role in monitoring and assessing the performance of educational institutions.

“The FEQAS-collect cloud server will transform the FEQAS department’s operations by improving data capturing and management, streamlining processes, and boosting efficiency,” said Sununu. “It will also promote collaboration, networking, and efficient reporting while providing scalability and flexibility in departmental operations.”

Hamid Bobboyi, the Executive Secretary of UBEC, highlighted the shift from traditional school inspections to a standards-based, systemic approach to internal and external evaluation, marking a significant advancement in quality assurance for basic education.

Bobboyi reaffirmed UBEC’s commitment to enhancing the delivery of quality basic education, focusing on the learning environment, and the teaching and learning processes, and underscored the critical role of quality assurance evaluations in diagnosing, assessing, and addressing educational needs.
