Federal University Lokoja: Notice to Graduating Students

The Management of Federal University Lokoja hereby congratulates all graduating students on their remarkable academic achievements. As we approach the graduation period, the University expects all students to celebrate with a sense of decorum, responsibility, and respect for the campus community and its property.
This notice serves to reiterate the University’s strict ban on all forms of immoral, indecent, and unruly behavior during graduation celebrations. The following activities are expressly prohibited on campus:
- SPRAYING OF CASH OR ANY MONETARY ITEMS: This act is considered wasteful, undignified, and a security risk. It is strictly forbidden.
- INSCRIPTIONS ON CLOTHES, WALLS, OR ANY UNIVERSITY PROPERTY: Defacing walls, furniture, walkways, or any other property is an act of vandalism and is prohibited.
- NOISE POLLUTION: The unauthorized use of public address systems, loudspeakers, or any other equipment that constitutes a public nuisance is banned. All celebrations must respect the peaceful atmosphere of the campus, especially near academic buildings and hostels.
- UNAUTHORIZED GATHERINGS: Any form of gathering, procession, or party that has not received prior official approval from the Office of Student Affairs is not permitted.
- RECKLESS DRIVING AND VEHICLE CONVOYS: Speeding, dangerous driving, performing stunts, and organizing disruptive motorcades on campus roads and parking lots are banned for the safety of all.
- ANY OTHER ROWDY OR UNRULY BEHAVIOUR: This includes but is not limited to public intoxication, use of illicit substances, fighting, and any other behavior deemed inappropriate and unbefitting of a scholar of this institution.
Consequences for Non-Compliance: Any student found engaging in these prohibited activities will face severe disciplinary action in accordance with the University’s Code of Conduct. Sanctions may include the withholding of your degree certificate, imposition of fines, or even suspension of graduation privileges.
Let us all work together to ensure that the graduation period is a dignified, memorable, and safe celebration for everyone.
Congratulations once again.
