Caleb Temiloluwa Adewole, a FUTA graduate with a First Class degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (CGPA 4.85), overcame financial and leadership challenges through discipline, innovative study techniques, and scholarships, and aspires to pursue further education abroad to become a world-class engineer.

Caleb Temiloluwa Adewole, a Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) graduate, has achieved remarkable academic success, earning a First Class degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a CGPA of 4.85, ranking as the second-best student in his class.
Caleb’s academic journey began with an outstanding JAMB score of 339/400 in 2017 and a near-perfect 96% in FUTA’s Post-UTME exam. Throughout his university years, Caleb excelled in challenging courses, earning high scores, including a notable 98% in one of FUTA’s toughest subjects.
Despite financial constraints and the challenges of balancing academics with leadership responsibilities, including serving as the President of his fellowship in his third year, Caleb demonstrated resilience. He credits his success to God, discipline, and a supportive team, which helped him delegate leadership tasks when academic demands were high. Scholarships from the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) and the NNPC-Chevron joint venture helped ease his financial burdens.
Caleb utilized innovative study techniques, such as active recall and spaced repetition, supported by tools like “Anki.” He emphasized the importance of studying past questions and seeking mentorship from seniors. These habits, combined with his commitment to excellence, fueled his academic achievements.
With aspirations to become a world-class engineer, Caleb plans to pursue further education abroad, leveraging his strong academic foundation and global opportunities.
Caleb encourages students to adopt an excellence mindset, experiment with study methods, and focus on results. “Believe in your potential, start early, and find the process that works best for you. With discipline and perseverance, success is attainable,” he advises.
