Cursory: The Light Givers Foundation (LGF) awarded scholarships to 10 financially disadvantaged students in Anambra State, sponsored by High Chief Stanley Obodoagwu. The scholarships support secondary school and university education and were granted to top-performing students from Abbott Girls Secondary School. LGF’s Founder, Mr. Ezeudo Gburugburu, emphasized the importance of supporting underprivileged individuals and expressed commitment to the students’ future.


The Light Givers Foundation, a non-governmental organization, has provided scholarships to 10 underprivileged students in Anambra State to support their secondary school and university education.
Dr. Onyinye Okeke, the Secretary of LGF, announced in a statement on Tuesday that the recipients of the scholarships, which were sponsored by High Chief Stanley Obodoagwu, were students from Abbott Girls Secondary School in Ihiala, Anambra.
Okeke mentioned that 45 students from disadvantaged backgrounds participated in the examination, and 10 of them emerged as the top performers, qualifying for the scholarships worth millions of naira.
The statement also included a quote from Mr. Ezeudo Gburugburu, the Founder and Financier of LGF, expressing his commitment to supporting these deserving students and their education.
“I am passionate about the future of these young children who are leaders of tomorrow and it is paramount to ensure that they get educated, most importantly supporting the indigents among them.
“This is also part of a series to mark the obsequies of my father, the late Eugene Obodoagwu, a business tycoon.”
Dr. Chukwuka Eto, a member of the Post Primary Schools Service Commission in Nnewi Zone, Awka, who also represents the Anambra State Ministry of Education, expressed appreciation to LGF for their support.
Additionally, Councillor Afam Ononkwo, who represents Ogburu Ward 5 in Ihiala Local Government Council, acknowledged and thanked Obodoagwu and LGF for their continuous assistance to the underprivileged in various ways within the community.
The one-day event had the Zonal Director of Education, Nnewi Zone, Mrs Umennadi Eziamaka, and the School Principal, Dr Sabina Chukwunedum, in attendance
