“THE DOTS WILL CONNECT •-•-•
“This is the story of my life and I would want to serve it as a compass for you to understand where you are going.
“Often times people have asked how I get to combine my fashion business, writing and speaking abilities. To them it is strange how a single person can be a tailor and an author as well. They wonder if I learnt all the three abilities at once.
“I have decided to use this post to give an explanation to this.
“Just before you begin to read, I want you to keep this in mind – “nothing just happens”.
“After I left secondary school, gaining admission into the university was difficult for me. So within those years of “stagnation”, I read lots of books, attended trainings and did lots of inspirational quotes, fictional stories and articles. It was my writings on my Facebook timeline that connected me to someone who made me co-author my first novel.
“Five years after I had co-authored the book which is this year 2022, the book became a must-read in a tertiary institution.
“It was also within the years when I was seeking admission into the university that I was able to work in about 5 places. Working with those employers taught me human management and the tactics to winning and retaining clients. I didn’t know that my experiences in those years was indirectly a kind of business school for me.
“One day I decided to quit everything about being an employee to learn a skill, and it turned out to be tailoring.
“Few days ago I began to have a flashback of my life and it became obvious to me that my experiences all these years were simply the dots in my life trying to connect themselves.
“I’ve ran my fashion business for more than 5 years now without having any serious issue with a client. I’ve used my writing skills to create uncountable contents for my brand. I’ve also used this same writing ability to author my EBook: 6-Figure Entrepreneur Secrets. My speaking abilities has helped me to inspire a lot of people both offline and online.
“So when I attend an offline event where I’m to speak, I mount the stage dressed in an outfit from Dom Clothings, teach the audience with the experiences I’ve gathered all through the years and still sell a book to them.
“What am I trying to say?
“Everything going on in your life right now are various dots that are bound to connect. Don’t overlook them. Never neglect the experiences.
“Your delay before admission is a dot, Your learning how to make cakes is another dot, Your getting admission into a nursing school instead of the medicine you intended to study is another dot.
“One day, you will attend to a patient who happens to be the wife to a governor and while having a conversation on her sick bed she can ask if you know anyone that can make cake very well because she would love to have such person make her husband’s birthday cake. And that is how that skill you already have will announce you to the world.
“David was the best king that Israel had not just because he killed Goliath but because he had always been in the palace and sat close to the king to play the harp for him. While sitting close to the king, he knew how everything was done in the palace and became a friend to the King’s son, Jonathan. But no one knew that one day this shepherd boy will become the ruler of the entire kingdom. His rearing the sheep was a dot, his killing the lion and the bear was also a dot of training before he encountered Goliath, andhis ability to know how to play the harp was another dot that gave him access to the king before he was finally crowned king.
“So at whatever level or place you find yourself today, maximize the opportunity and build yourself to excellence because one day all the dots in your life will connect to create your greatness.
