IAUE Political Science, 12 New PG Courses gets NUC Approval.

We are pleased to inform all undergraduate and postgraduate students that Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) has received 100% NUC approval for the 1 new courses.
This was disclosed in the University’s Facebook page with a post titled FULL ACCREDITATION STATUS FOR IAUE PROGRAMMES.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has given full accreditation status to programmes run by Ignatius Ajuru University of Education.
The Vice-Chancellor Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele disclosed this at the statutory Senate meeting which held on Wednesday January 29, 2020 at the postgraduate hall of the institution.
Recall that a thirty three man expert team from the NUC had visited the university on resource assessment and verification of proposed academic programmes run by the institution on Thursday November 28, 2019.
The programmes are:
- Economics- M.Sc & Ph.D— Full
- Sociology- M.Sc & Ph.D– Full
- Educational Management- M.ED & Ph.d- Full
- Primary Education-M.ED & Ph-D – Full
- Business Education- M.Sc.ED & Ph.D- Full
- English- M.A & Ph.D- Full
- French-.M.A & Ph.D- Full
- History- M.A & Ph.D- Full
- Biology- M.Sc & Ph.D- Full
- Chemistry- M.Sc & Ph.D- Full
- Physics- M.Sc & Ph.D- Full
- Mathematics- M.Sc & Ph.D- Full
- Political Science- B.Sc- Full
This current number of programmes with full accreditation is in addition to undergraduate Programmes of the institution which had 100% full accreditation status.
The Vice-Chancellor who expressed appreciation to staff for the success recorded stated that he is hopeful that the State Governor Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike will grant approval for employment to cater for the staffing needs of the institution which is a requirement from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the establishment of full time mode of other programmes especially Mathematics.
47 Courses Offered in IAUE have full Accreditation – VC
All the forty-seven undergraduate programmes offered by Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, are fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
This was announced by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele, during the 10th matriculation ceremony on May 4, 2019, at the university auditorium.
Professor Ndimele also disclosed that the university has entered into partnerships with some universities in the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Turkey, and Ukraine to run top degree programmes.
He explained that students would be admitted to study for two or three years at IAUE, and conclude the remaining years at one of the partnering foreign universities.
He also informed the audience that the university’s postgraduate school is one of the most efficient in Nigeria, pointing out that it is well equipped with state of the arts infrastructure, and students graduate in record time.
Among some of the achievements he has recorded since he was appointed the VC three years ago include; twenty-eight new classrooms, two large halls at the Information and Communications Technology centre, the purchase of a 1,500 KVA electricity generator.
while work is on-going at the university mini-theatre for the department of theatre and film studies.
Other plans aimed at boosting the infrastructural status of the university, the VC said, include the construction of new exit road to ease traffic on the main campus, state-of-the-art facilities at the library and the ICT centre, a 160 bed spaces postgraduate hall of residence that would be commissioned soon.
